This collection of drawings was informed by an interest in textured surfaces in the environment around us, and how overlooked things might be viewed artfully. Initially conceived as a series of photos, this project morphed into roughly 80 tracings that removed most of the environment/background from the image. This allowed the unique aspects of the door itself to be highlighted. A 16” x 20” poster was created for a fictional gallery show of all the images: the type lockup was printed, traced, then scanned and placed into the poster, a process similar to the one used for the door illustrations.
