Finding the Thread

This thesis project explores the function of the apron beyond its use as a protective garment. The apron become a uniform for the ‘job’ of making things, a catalyst for creation. Originally intended to reflect the highly personal nature of garments and the creative process, the project morphed into a meditation on the unique power and joy of learning (and leaning into) an entirely new process. What new ideas might an ‘inexperienced’ hand come up with? In our results driven world, what could be discovered if we focused on the experience of creating rather than the end product?
